For some time the outside clock hasn't been working outside Marks & Spencer's. So I thought I'd drop the manager a line at M&S
Marks & Spencer
Please hear my plea
The time on your clock
I just cannot see
I don’t want you to think
I’m making a fuss
But I do like to see the time
When I get off the bus
Every Thursday I meet Elsa,
My friend, outside Yates
If I can’t see the time
I’m bound to be late
So will you do me a favour
I know it’s a bind
If I find the key
Will you give it a wind
Don’t think this is a wind up
I’m really sincere
I buy a lot in your sales
When it’s not quite so dear
So I’d better sign off,
‘cause doesn’t time fly
Until I see your clock ticking,
I’ll say a cheerful
“goodbye”
A reply from M&S is opposite
Even a clock that does not work is right twice a day. Polish Proverb
A reply from the poem I sent to Marks & Spencer -
We at Marks & Spencer hear your plea
Regarding our clock, which you cannot see
We appreciate how customers feel
Shopping, meeting friends perhaps for a meal
Staff feel just as frustrated too
We don't want to be late, just like you
I have followed this matter up with our Operations Team
A repair has been logged it would seem
As long as the repair man finds nothing drastically wrong
It should start ticking before too long
