About seventeen years ago I went to the doctors because I was feeling tearful and shaky.

The female doctor was sympathetic and decided I was suffering from depression.

She prescribed anti-depressants and apart from one stupid doctor deciding once to take me off of them cold turkey I have been on them ever since.

The cold turkey episode caused me to develop Fybromialgia which is another story.

Recently because of side effects and with the advice of my doctor I am weaning myself off them.

The tablets I have been taking are Efexor and if you surf the net you will see that they are not easy to get off.

I found snippets of advice on various websites and I pass this on to anyone who is having the same problem.

My doctor adviced me to take the 75mg tablet every other day for a fortnight.

This I have done but I have also been taking (3 times a day) one 1000mg of Flax Seed Oil tablet, one 500mg Omega 3 (TG) capsule & one Kickstart RZ for SAM-e tablet.

I have been playing a Depression hypnosis CD when I go to bed at night and I watch a Happiness DSSP programme once or as many times as I can during the day.

I then had half the capsul of Efexor every other day. Unfortunately they can't be cut in half because they are not a tablet but I opened them up on a small plate or dish. (The pharmacist said this is OK ).

 I cut a grape in half and picked up the one half of the grains with the grape.

This also takes away any bitter or unpleasant taste.

. I have had a few minor side effects like bad dreams, upset stomach, headache and ear ache but nothing too bad.

In fact in a lot of ways I am actually feeling better off the tablets. I'm certainly not feeling depressed.

I then divided the capsules into four doses and again took them every other day.I did this twice. On Friday I take the last quarter and then I intend to stop them altogether.

In the meantime I'm going to give you a link for the Sam-e and the Happiness DSSP. both these items are brilliant and the people selling them are reliable, caring and helpful.

The Happiness DSPP can be downloaded from the U.S. So there is no post. The Sam-e kickstart also comes from the U.S. I haven't seen it in the U.K. but they generally work out cheaper from there anyway and some times when the post office permits they can come in 4-5 days.
